Castle of Sant Martí

The Church of Santa Maria and the Castle of Sant Martí:
The oldest part of the castle dates from the 12th and 13th centuries. The Romanic Church of Santa Maria was restored in 1906 by the prestigious architect and politician Josep Puig i Cadafalch. Since 1931 it has been classed as an historical-artistic monument by the Generalitat de Catalunya. The remains of a Preroman funeral monument can be seen at the museum, as well as a marble head of the Aphrodite Goddess and even a Moorish soup tureen from the 15th century, among many other interesting pieces.
